At the top of Robber's Pass on
the historic coach road to Pilgrim's Rest, lies Crystal Springs Mountain
Lodge. Cool & fresh mountain air and a pristine nature reserve teaming
with birdlife and game.
Beautiful, tranquil gardens combine with exquisite natural
scenery to create a haven incorporating spectacular cliffs and gorges,
forests, sweeping views, murmuring streams, plunging waterfalls and crystal clear pools.
Self-Catering Lodges
Accommodation consists of thatch Lodges with one, two or three bedrooms, sleeping 2,
4 or 6 people. Main bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms. Lodges are serviced daily and
are fully equipped for self-catering - complete with microwave, stove and
fridge. Each lodge has satellite television and
M-Net in the open-plan lounge/dining area with cozy fireplace. All Lodges overlooks sweeping Escarpment
views from the wooden deck (equipped with electric braai and patio
furniture). Towels and basic toiletries are also provided and larger units have washing machines and tumble
driers.
Club House Suites
(Bed & Breakfast, or Dinner, Bed & Breakfast)
There are 42 Clubhouse Suites - en-suite, hotel style rooms close to
the Clubhouse. These 2-sleeper rooms have telephones, tea/coffee service, satellite
television and M-Net. All units are open-plan with fireplaces, compact
kitchenette (with microwave, stove and fridge) and a patio. A communal
braai area is close by.
Facilities at the Lodge
Facilities include four swimming pools (two heated) in delightful gardens, floodlit tennis
courts, a squash court, mini-golf and a games room with table tennis and
other indoor games. Children's playground, a kiosk/shop,
restaurant-cum-coffee shop and the Crystal Tavern.
Adults looking for tranquility and relaxation will find it at The Clubhouse - strictly for
over-16's. The complex houses a health spa (indoor heated pool, jacuzzi, sauna, sun deck,
gym), a beauty salon and a TV lounge.
Nature Reserve
A 2,000 hectare nature reserve adjoins the resort - a grassland paradise
encompassing rolling hills, cliffs, gorges, waterfalls and streams. The
reserve is stocked with wildebeest, giraffe, zebra, antelope, jackal and
leopard. Morning and evening game drives are offered. There are also five self-guided
walks within the reserve and a trout dam to enthrall fly fishermen (bring
your own tackle). There's also a Boma - perfect for dinners under the stars.
