Environmental Centre
The Environmental Centre is part
of the Mpumalanga Provincial Government's Department of Agriculture and Land
Administration. They specialize in creating & promoting
environmental awareness, and conservation of the environment by the
educational programs they present - mainly to school and youth groups.
There office hours are from 07:45 to :16:00, weekdays only.
The Environmental Centre was once the Hospital of Pilgrim's
Rest, built in 1911.

Apart from their hostel accommodation, they also have a diverse array
of comfortable self-catering and bed-only accommodation options - from
2-sleeper rooms to self-catering houses sleeping 6 to 7 people
each. Linen in rooms and self-catering house provided.

The self-catering accommodation are offered without all the
bells & whistles, such as TV, microwave ovens, towels, etc. This
accommodation is well suited to guest on a low budget and for those that
want a bed only.

Their two dormitories (one for boys and one for girls) can sleep up to 120
people. They provide bunk beds with foam rubber mattresses, and can
also provide meals.

|
The large air-conditioned, conference centre is equipped with overhead
projector, data projector, VCR & monitors, and sound system. It can be used for team building meetings, conferences and wedding
receptions. Catering available by prior arrangement.
