"You are never too late for the Gold Rush!"

23 November 2020

The PANORAMA ROUTE in Mpumalanga
is the destination of choice as soon as the
lockdown is lifted sufficiently to allow free travel.
Wide Open Spaces
Breathtaking Nature
Mild to Wild Adventures
Scrumptious Restaurants
Homely, Safe Accommodation
A Time and a Place to Revitalize Soul, Body and Mind

Mpumalanga - and the Panorama Route - currently has one of the lowest confirmed Covid-19 infections in the country. With accommodation for leisure now permitted, many visitors are currently confirming bookings. Our venues will soon be overwhelmed in their efforts to accommodate everyone.

To avoid disappointment, we strongly recommend that you make your bookings as soon as possible. Should the lockdown restrictions prevent you from coming, you can then choose between a postponement or a full refund.

Most of our Lodges, Guest Houses and Self-catering venues are now busy with renovations, upgrades and sanitation. They are patiently looking forward to welcome you back when the time is right.

To book your Accommodation or Adventure Activities,

Wishing you all an uneventful & safe lockdown period!

Pilgrim's Rest is situated on the magnificent Panorama Route in the Kruger Lowveld region of the Mpumalanga province of South Africa.  The area is richly imbued with a diversity of natural, cultural and historic gems.  The uniqueness of this historic village is vividly evident in its museums and historic sites.  It offers the visitor a fascinating window into the past, and captures the spirit of a bygone era and its people in their quest for gold.

The entire town of Pilgrim's Rest was declared a National Monument in 1986 as a living memory of the early gold rush days in South Africa during the late 1800s / early 1900s.

Since then a dedicated team of historians, architects, curators and special interest groups closely monitor all developments and refurbishments in the village to maintain its historic appearance.

There is no ATM in Pilgrim's at the moment.
While most businesses have card facilities, not all do.
